Things that made me happy today or in the recent past:

A hot air balloon settling down for the night and the truck-plus-trailer that was heading for their rendezvous. Near Collin College

Bluebonnets on the cuts on the shoulder of the road. Near Collin College. My first large sighting this season.

I got my nails done today. It’s a gift I gave myself when I turned 60. Except for the years at seminary when it seemed inappropriate to have perfect nails, I am enjoying it still. And I love my nail lady.

I set my indoor plants on the front porch again, for what I hope is the last time.

I made some really great chicken soup for the third meal from my super market roast chicken. It was yummy. Served over rotini. There is another serving left. And also one more meal with the chicken.

And this rose bush bloomed in the last few days, just around the corner from my house. It’s so unusual to find a healthy rose bush in Dallas.
