Things that made me happy today:

Learned this morning that Eric Loehr and Amy Loehr’s boys (my grandsons) took first places in their respective weight classes in the state prep school finals. Their dad did the same thing x years ago. Way to go. Lots of discipline, hours of practice, and parents willing to drive and do laundry.

My Christmas cactus is blooming to beat the band.

I transferred my mother-of-millions seedlings to a pot of their own. I seem to remember some where that peanut plants are not good neighbors and their pot partner has been a volunteer peanut. (I’m hoping that this sentence communicates but I’m sure you’ll let me know.)

Ruby and I waited in the rain for the bus in my car this morning. About five minutes. I suggested she try some pick up lines on her new love interest. She said she didn’t know any, so I helped her out. We were both amused at how lame they all sounded.

Then, this afternoon (having missed said bus at school), she showed me how she would take a walk with me this weekend (an activity that she finds boring). She should make a TikTok. That’s all I’ll say about it.

Some days I’m really easily amused also.
