Making me happy today:
Super chilly, wet weather and I have the proper clothes to wear.
First, to church where a full hall celebrated community and mourned and honored those we’ve lost. Beautiful music (an oboe with the full choir), lighting candles and bringing pictures, a powerful sermon, speaking their names, holding hands, the works. We do it every October/November. It’s very moving.
Then — re-dedicating the memorial garden, designed and maintained by a group of volunteers. Since 1989 (our church was founded in 1899) the garden has been a quiet place on a busy street, a garden of remembrance.
Working on my puzzle, bringing plants in from the porch and yard, (Ruby helped me get the Mother of Millions plant on a dolly. We only smushed two leaves.) It’s 40 outside now at 5 pm. A little chilly for Dallas.
Over the last several days, I’ve rearranged my front room and my kitchen/office area. It’s all good.
