Things that made me happy today:

Church, of course. Today was our annual New Year’s ritual. We have a burning bowl and sing some traditional hymns, and recite a version of the Kol Nidre in unison that I find very moving every year. A thing I didn’t know I was leaving behind in the burning bowl popped into my mind as I was writing. Truly out of nowhere. The mind is a wonderful thing.

Lively conversation at brunch after church. Lots to talk about as the bunch has been apart for three weeks. Very large bunch today. I so love them. City Café was happy to see us.

Toured another house today. We liked it. Might make a bid. It’s complicated, buying a house.

Girls’ indoor soccer tonight. It’s more like a scrimmage since the team doesn’t practice, but it’s usually a pretty lively game. Go, Ruby.

And you? What made you happy today? Any day, really. I just like to hear about it.
