Five things that made me happy today:

1. Mr Crow made so much noise about the peanuts that half a dozen crows came and an equal number of squirrels. I think the squirrels came out ahead. One got so excited that he laid down on the corner top of the fence, which I’ve never seen. After five minutes or so, he scampered on.

2. I saw the tiniest anole I remember ever seeing. He was really tiny, easily less than 2" long. He was in the bag with my shrub clippings and hopped out when I rolled the top down and skedaddled. Really quick. I thought he was a bug of some kind!

3. Some work on my new puzzle. It really is a doozy. That’s a full size poster at the top, so it’s easy to work from, but it’s enormous.

4. Phone calls to get this and that handled and every single person (who I had never met) were so courteous and service-minded. One call got disconnected due to a computer glitch (employee working at home) and someone else from the company called me back to make sure my issue was handled.

5. Just noticing the practice that Texans have of parking under a tree or in the shade even if it makes a much longer walk to the store. It’s kind of cute.

And you? I’d love to hear what made you smile today.

Keep going
