Five things that made me happy today:

1. Tim, the Berrett Pest Control guy who checks the house once a quarter, got rid of those pesky wasps in the cable box. They were terrorizing the family. Yay for good service.

2. Ruby had a sad day at school so I brought her home and she made some wonderful art. I’ll get some pix tomorrow.

3. After we picked up Max, we all trekked to Sunset Bay on White Rock Lake, our favorite water bird feeding place. The lake is really really low and we walked several yards out into what would have been knee deep water. Canada geese, Muskovy ducks, wood ducks (a whole bevy of females and a couple of males just coloring up to adult hood), a couple that may have been young black bellied whistling ducks or just some mallards fooling around. Duck ID is learning territory for me.

4. Then a SBUX stop for a favorite cool drink, indoors with one other person on the far side of the room.

5. And, now, for a quiet evening with a book.
