Things making me happy:

A road trip with Ruby to Winnsboro took most of the day. It’s about 150 miles away, all but 20 miles or so on the interstate.

We strolled through the cars, quite the variety. They were beautifully done. I can’t imagine the work that goes into such a project.

We shopped at a couple of thrift/antique stores and found some treasures including this hard-to-resist ceramic serving dish. Now I need to find something to put in it. It’s about 10" square and cost all of $7.

We stopped at a roadside restaurant called Foster’s Place in Pickton for a late lunch. Ruby said it might be a place where everybody knows your name. I think she’s right. And not in a punny way.

And there’s more, but you get the flavor.

The big black Lincoln is quite a cushy drive. And slurped up a LOT of gas.

Plus: lots of hummer across Texas this week. Ms Bunny is in the backyard often. New tiny Texas anoles are all over the place. The day light is fall day light. (The temps are still wildly summer.)

And you? What’s keeping you happy these days? I love to hear.

Keep going.
