Five things that made me happy today:
1. I finished my puzzle and there’s one missing piece!! Happens about once every 20 puzzles, I would say. Considering there are 1000 pieces in each puzzle, that’s a very small error rate. I’m contacting the company to replace the piece or the puzzle. They’ve always been good to do so.
2. An early-ish adventure with power tools in the back yard. I cut back the privet by my sitting room window. It has grown to cover almost the entire window and really keeps the room dark. It requires standing on a step stool with my power hedge trimmer going. (I Thought about notifying someone before I started. That’s the extent of my safety practices. I know someone will ask.)
3. Ribbon cutting at church tonight for the new building. It is really a giant undertaking that worked out well. A few hundred people turned out for a little ceremony and an open house. Creative Community had a table and a few of us gave an artwork for a door prize to be awarded tomorrow.
4. The caterers did a good job of fixing finger foods for multi generations. Something for everyone including an old favorite — dates stuffed with a walnut (?) and wrapped in bacon and broiled. All the food groups, I believe, in one bite.
5. I added even more reinforcements to the catio. I’m hoping that’s enough to keep Rexie contained. Any additional work will require more hands and, probably, a saw (which I don’t have handy).
I’d love to hear what made you happy today.
Keep going.
