Five things that made me happy today, July 4, 2022.

1. From yesterday — really good church service and lunch/brunch with a friend.

2. Dinner at my neighbor’s. He lit the grill late this morning and aromas have wafted through the neighborhood for several hours. So yummy.

3. At the house with a brother, a son and his wife, a daughter. Family. Good conversations and funny or not-so-funny stories about neighbors.

4. Fireworks tonight at Oak Point, a familiar and favorite spot to watch them. I do love fireworks and figure they will be outlawed altogether in the next few years, so now is the time to appreciate them. Mañin Soto and Ruby will enjoy with me.

5. The backyard datura has sprung into bloom this summer and has enclosed the kitchen chair that’s out there for some reason.
