Things that made me happy today:

Outpatient procedure at UT Health Science Center Hospital. Excellent excellent service. Like clockwork. Move from this room to that room. Sign these papers. Get poked here and there. At one time I was in the ready room by myself, behind a curtain from maybe 10 other such rooms and the buzz of conversation — different staff getting different info from different people — sounded like a small, friendly party. All is well. I came home this afternoon.

My excellent son, Eric Loehr, was my driver in his honking big car.

I drank a tiny coke in the recovery room so my body doesn’t know whether to snooze after surgery or stay awake and file last year’s papers. I couldn’t decide so I worked on my puzzle.

So many choices.

My neighbor’s Bradford pear has started blooming.
