Five things that made me happy today:

1. I put a hanging basket from my front porch out in the rain over the weekend and found the remains of a little bird nest. Probably a wren. They’re known for making a home close to houses, often at the front door. About as big as my fist and very very loosely assembled.

2. Quick visit to Barnes & Noble with Max and Ruby to pick up a couple of graphic novels for Ruby and a road atlas for Max and me to plot our trip to Cape Girardeau in July. And another puzzle for grandma by one of my favorite puzzle artists.

3. One of the rabbits commandeered the corn cob that fell to the ground early today and made everyone else stay away. She was really chowing down.

4. Then someone (Mr Squirrel?) carried the corn cob and the holder part of the way to the back fence where it got hung up on the table. I wonder who got to eat the last of the corn!!

5. I made reservations to stay at my Aunt Mary Foster’s house when I’m in Cape. I love her house and I’m so glad Tom Neumeyer and his wife have made it in to a comfortable bed and breakfast. I can hardly wait. It’s around the corner from my grandparents’ house and the place I lived in FIRST and SECOND grade. Can you believe they are all standing and in good shape?

What made you happy today? I love to hear about it!

Keep going.
