Five things that made me happy today:

1. Years ago I visited my sister Katie Foster Dunn in a newish house and they had a glass shower stall and she kept a squeegee in there and so I used it after I showered. Like magic. Wow, I said to myself. If I ever have a glass shower stall, that’s what I’m going to do. So I have one and I do and every time I use it I think of my sister and how luxurious it is to have a glass shower stall.

2. My son Eric Loehr and his wife Amy Broach Loehr had all of us over for my delayed birthday dinner. Yummm. Homemade brisket and other things. On the patio with all six cousins, who are good friends.

3. They’re all moving into teen age and I think good cousin friends are priceless.

4. I did a little work in the garden with a rake and all the leaves that fell from the Bradford pear next door in the fall. Most of them are now added to the compost heap in the corner. Good enough for me.

5. Cello music at church this morning. The first time I played accompaniment for a cellist who sat close enough to me to touch, I cried when she started to play. If I had known that’s what a cello sounded like so close, I think I would have chosen that for my instrument.

I’d love to hear what made you happy today.

Keep going.
