These things are making me happy:

Lots of family and friends sitting down to a meal and conversation together. #3 turkey tonight.

Some color in even Dallas trees this soggy, dark day. The maples are particularly pretty this year. They seem to glow in the gloom.

Ruby made macaroni and cheese AND pumpkin bread today. She’s experimenting with the recipes. That’s fun. And very edible.

Started a new novel I heard about in an interview yesterday. The Displacements. It’s good reading, not too cerebral. About a Category 6 hurricane (no such category) that hits Miami and its aftermath. A cautionary tale.

Almost finished with an old New Yorker cover puzzle again. One of my favorites. Pic to come.

Bought my 2023 Leuchtturm 1917 journals. Pale lilac this time. The pic is my journal book shelf since 2016. Yes, I like ‘em.
