Five things that made me happy today:

1. The daughter of a facebook friend has birthed twins, maybe 8 days old. And grandma is helping. Oh my. Every photo initiates a flood of loving comments and more. It’s one of the very best features of facebook: vicarious joy. I love it.

2. Turns out what I thought was corn from bird seed in the back yard is milo/sorghum. It’s about 3 feet high these days, and irresistible to my rabbit population. I daresay I have the only milo patch on the block.

3. My handyman came today instead of tomorrow and fixed my faulty fire alarm. I had replaced a bad battery with another weak battery. All better now. He also took a look at installing a grab bar in my tub.

4. Church. Some incredible music today. And some relief and a little sadness that we still aren’t gathering in person. I’m newly present to how that feeds me week to week.

5. Marble the cat took a nap with me today. She likes to sleep against my arm. For a tiny cat, she has a very low pitched and low volume purr. After a lifetime of cats, I still don’t understand what makes a purr.

I’d love to hear what made you happy this day. Or any day.

Keep going.
