Five things that made me happy today:

1. Planning tomorrow’s wildflower trip. We do have a favorite field in Ennis but we will also be making a couple of other stops and a picnic lunch. Can’t wait. Photos to come.

2. Finished my challenging puzzle today. Friday is usually my day off, more or less, so I cranked up that tinny tiny radio, made my way through a Mexican coke, and finished that thing.

3.Another sunny, pleasant day. It is my favorite season and north Texas usually has pretty springs. This one is.

4. A female Eastern Bluebird was feeding on my patio this afternoon. I don’t remember seeing one in Dallas, let alone in my backyard, or on the ground! I reached for the binoculars rather than the camera to record the event in my mind and to doublecheck my ID.

5. My friend Myra MacPherson gave me some tree shaped candles for Christmas and I have left them on my mantle. They’re battery powered and really beautiful. I accidentally set them to Auto and they come on at the same time every night and “burn” for six hours. So pretty in the summer twilight.

What made you happy today? I’d love to hear.

Keep going.
