1. I tried out my new edger on my sidewalk. Wow. Digs a little trench wherever I point it. Need to learn a little control. My duplex neighbor mows our little front lawns weekly; I insisted I’d do the edging. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it, right?

2. One beautiful, slightly cool (relatively speaking) day today.

3. Finished my puzzle. All pieces present and accounted for. Just the right degree of difficulty.

4. All 200 of my vote postcards are accounted for. Expect a surge of voters in Texas this year!

5. The bunnies are back this evening. They cleaned out all the carrots, a lot of the bird seed, and some of the bunny kibble. (I’ve forgotten the right name for it.)

And you? I love hearing what made you happy today.

Keep going.

1. Ruby and I visited Valley House Gallery & Sculpture Garden. It was just delightful. It was our abbreviated version of the Soto family trip for the weekend. Highly recommend.

2. Both cats are watching the final episodes of Season 9 of Call the Midwife. I’m a fan.

3.The bunnies have returned to my back yard after they did a ittle walkabout, I think. Three this afternoon, including Red Rabbit, who I haven’t seen in quite a while.

4. Comfort food for supper: baked potato with butter and salt and pepper. What I…

Five things that made me happy today:

1. Church. Excellent music (and it’s so great to hear in the sanctuary and not on-line!). Sermon. The whole nine yards.

2. And I’m riding with a new friend who happens to drive a Tesla. That was a fun ride.

3. And brunch with friends. We have maintained and deepened our connection through 18 months of zoom calls and our in-person gatherings are richer than ever. Hard to beat a two hour meal with good food and good friends.

4. A longish nap.

5. A new puzzle. A Van Gogh painting. It’s going to take a while.

And you? I’m listening.

Keep going.

5 things that made me happy today:

1. A couple of gems from a zoom conference call for a course I’m in. (That would be vague-booking. Award winning, don’t you think?)

2. A haircut from my very local hair guru, Amanda Jon Lundquist, whose ear I talked off, being wired up from #1 above.

3. More work on my paper. Do you find that when you start thinking on one project suddenly you’re thinking in a lot of places? That makes me happy.

4. Ruby had a music party tonight at Altitude Trampoline Park — Cedar Hill this evening. She…

My happy report will have to wait until tomorrow. I don’t know when I’ve been so affected by the death of a public figure. The thugs are already out. My heart is low tonight. RIP, Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Five things that made me happy today:

1. Hot/cold drink on a shady patio with a friend this morning. Such a treat.

2. An intriguing on-line class, very small, with folks who are becoming my friends. #2 of 6.

3. Ruby had her third Mathnasium class this morning and I think she and the instructors have found the right rhythm for her learning style. Yay, team!

4. I enjoyed an uninterrupted hour of reading Wilber. I know. It’s a taste you have to develop.

5. Really looking forward to our second in-person church service tomorrow morning.

I’d love to hear some of your happy moments today. Or any day.

Keep going.

Five things that made me happy today:

1. Max and Ruby both got up and to school with a minimum amount of fuss. Kudos to the whole team.

2. G.r.e.a.t conversations with friends about Life Its Own Self — twice in one day.

3. More bunny parties on the front lawn last night. I went out to see if I should turn the sprinkler on (it’s my watering day) and got so busy checking on bunny detritus that I forgot my mission!

4. Got some admin done for my house and the Soto house. …

5 things that made me happy today:

1. Ruby rushed to the bus stop (across the street) this morning and left a piece of bacon on the kitchen counter. She was ridiculously happy when I brought it to her!

2. I do have two pieces in the TVAA show. It’s a perfect storm of someone working two jobs, new software, new person here or there, missed communication, etc. We’ll get it straightened out tomorrow. Yay!

3. Max and I went shopping and then cooked supper for the family. We ate everything, it was just mediocre, but we were very hungry.

1. We tried out the new school design and everyone is relaxed and happy at the end of the day (3 pm, not 4).

2. Max had time to sleep in for a few hours this morning. Ruby caught up on her math work.

3. Max had an hour plus conversation with another coach possibility. Tip: make sure your kids and grandkids talk to non-family adults often. It does wonders for their confidence and their world view. The world view of both parties, actually.

4. I spent most of the day NOT reading…

5 things that made me happy today:

1. Working on my 5 things paper. Kept stumbling on interesting ideas that led to interesting ideas that led to a few more points. I have about 2000 words now.

2. All my cats came into the kitchen to watch me cook tonight. They stretched out on the floor. Except the one who lives on the counter. She watched from there.

3. Untangling what happened after some of my art was accepted for a show (that’s already opened) but not hung. …
