Things that are making me happy:

Cooking for an early Thanksgiving with Max and Ruby both in the kitchen. Macaroni and cheese (from scratch) and Grandma Foster’s Pumpkin Tea Bread recipe from the 60s. Fun making, yum to eat.

Wonderful early Thanksgiving dinner at the Eric Loehr house. Double yum.

Dropping Max at DFW for a solo trip to NYC — completely planned and execute by him. Did I say he’s excited? And for a 6 AM departure?

Then I slept in until 830, which is midday for me.

And you? I’d love to hear what’s making you happy. Always.

Keep going.

Things that are making me happy:

Progress on getting Max registered at Collin College.

My regular Wednesday call full of travel stories today. Part of the fun of traveling is the stories you tell long after the trip is over, right?

Ruby surprised a new friend with a very cool birthday gift today at school.

Tomorrow night MIGHT be the semi-finals for Ruby’s fall soccer season. It has been scheduled and re-scheduled for two weeks due to rainy weather. I hope the girls get to play it out.

I brought my front porch plants in a few days ago and the critter below rode in. You can see how invisible he can get. I love having anoles in the house. They can clean up those pesky spiders.

And you? I always like to read about it.

Keep going.

Things that made me happy today:

This fellow hitched a ride on the windshield for five or so miles. He hopped off at the grocery store, I think. I’m not sure what he is.

The crows were out in full force this morning. They stand on my fence and yell toward the house. Their mission is unmistakable.

There’s a new batch of anoles in my yard. Or one that really really gets around. They’re about the size of my little finger, including their tails. So tiny and fragile. I hope they catch lots of bugs and make it through the winter.

Thus endeth my wildlife report for Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

And you? I love to hear about it.

Keep going.

Things that made me happy today:

Church. Great music. (Kindred Voices choir.) A rip-roaring sermon.

Brunch later at City Club. Seven of us having a pretty loud good time. Some of our regular group have returned from summer away.

Still getting Max and Ruby set up for Driver’s Ed, scheduling their permits (quite a lead time). The state is so short handed that appointments are now being made for December and January and even later for a learner permit. Never mind for the driver’s test.

Slight rain on and off all day. Next to nothing accumulated.

I’m settling in for some old movie on line tonight. Haven’t chosen yet. Got a recommendation? I’ll add it to my list.

And you? I’d love to hear about it.

Keep going.
